SURFING

The Jade House is located on a unique stretch of quiet coastline in Southern Costa Rica.  Home to such epic breaks as the mighty Dominical and La Punta for advanced surfers, as well as much more sheltered breaks more suitable for beginners or rusty surfers like Dominicalito, there's something for everyone.  And, from the moment you chuck your board in the car to stretching off and paddling out, it takes about 10 minutes.  The team at Dominical Waverider are friends and expert guides who can show you around.

Here's Sam Reidy, National Boys and Juniors Costa Rican Champion and son of the architects & builders of the Jade House, to show you around.

Dominical

Home to numerous local and international surf contests year-round, Dominical is a powerful wave for more advanced surfers.  At low tide peeling left and right, getting barrelled is a regular phenomenon.

Surfing La Punta

La Punta

A longer paddle out rewards intermediate to advanced surfers with a big left hander and an uncluttered line up.  When there's a swell, expect anything from head high to triple overhead.

Playa Hermosa

Hermosa works on small and big days alike.  It taps out and becomes unworkable at much over head high, but any smaller swell is packed with peeling lefts and rights.  It's also a great break for learners on mellow days.

Dominicalito

In a sheltered cove south of the main Dominical break lies Dominicalito, a perfect break for rusty or beginner surfers.
